In order for female athletes to attain attention and support in this strictly biased and stereotyped circumstance, a lot of them choose to pursue the road the media and the society has paved for them. Rather than displaying their athletic prowess and achievement, they exploit their femininity and physical attractiveness to make themselves popular. Any thoughts?

Women athletes have always had a difficult time acquiring endorsements. The system makes it so that for a female athlete to rise to comparable celebrity of male athletes, they inevitably allow themselves to be portrayed as overly sexualized and exploited. I think this is a sad truth and reflects poorly on us as a society but until viewership goes up significantly for women’s sports it will remain the case.
